C Venkatramaiah retired as Professor of Civil Engineering from the Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, Tirupati. He had served earlier on the faculties of Engineering College, Kakinada; College of Engineering, Guindy, Madras; and RVR & JC College of Engineering, Guntur. He has over four decades of teaching experience and has dealt with a wide variety of subjects in civil engineering. He obtained his BE degree from the Andhra University, his MSc (Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering) from Madras University and PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He has to his credit several papers and articles and has authored four books in the areas of geotechnical engineering, engineering mechanics, structural analysis and surveying.
